Hart District Culture Fest Features SCV Chinese Dance

The Hart District Cultural Festival celebrates Diversity Across Santa Clarita Schools: SCV Chinese Dance Featured at Hart District Culture Fest was a highlight of the celebration.

On September 17, SCV Chinese Dance was proud to perform at the second annual Hart District Culture Fest, hosted at Valencia High School. The event brought together students and families from every school in the William S. Hart Union High School District. It filled the campus quad with color, music, and cultural pride.

The Culture Fest, organized by Valencia’s Associated Student Body (ASB) under the direction of teacher Joshua Benham, has grown from a small on-campus event into a vibrant district-wide celebration. This year’s festival featured performances from Golden Valley Folklorico, Armenian Dance Group, the CalArts Student African Ensemble, and SCV Chinese Dance. It was truly an event where SCV Chinese Dance was featured prominently, showcasing the diverse beauty of their cultures.

Sharing Chinese Culture Through Performance at Hart District Festival

SCV Chinese Dance presented a series of traditional and modern pieces. They showcased the elegance and diversity of Chinese dance. Flowing silks, fans, and ribbons caught the afternoon light. Our dancers performed for hundreds of students gathered in the quad.

For many attendees, this was their first time experiencing Chinese dance live. Truly it was a moment of connection that reflects the spirit of Culture Fest: celebrating heritage while learning from one another. At this event, SCV Chinese Dance certainly featured, leaving a memorable impression.

A Community Tradition in the Making

The event was spearheaded by Valencia Senior Class President Avery Park. She helped coordinate student clubs across the district. Her goal was to make Culture Fest an annual tradition. It aims to continue to grow in size and inclusivity each year.

We’re deeply honored to have been part of this community celebration. We are thrilled that our performance was once again featured in The Signal. This marks our third appearance and second feature in the local paper, where SCV Chinese Dance was highlighted at Hart District Culture Fest.
